As we gather this Thanksgiving season, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude—to our students, our families, our educators, and every member of the Los Angeles Unified community who makes this District a place of hope and opportunity.
This year, our students gave us so much to celebrate. Their achievements—academic, artistic, and athletic—have outpaced expectations and inspired pride across Los Angeles. Their success is proof that when we invest in young minds, when we believe in every child’s potential, greatness follows.
I am thankful for our teachers, our counselors, and school staff—those who show up every single day with passion, creativity, and care. You are the heart of Los Angeles Unified. Your dedication transforms classrooms into communities and schools into sanctuaries of learning and belonging.
I’m also profoundly grateful for our community partners—the organizations, businesses, and individuals who continue to give so generously of their time and resources. Your partnership reminds us that public education is a shared responsibility, and that together, we can lift we can lift every student higher.
And to the families and advocates who have stood courageously for our students—especially those protecting children and parents affected by immigration enforcement actions—thank you. You embody the very best of Los Angeles: compassion, resilience, and unity in the face of challenge.
